For instance, the Geoprober Drilling System has been designed to eliminate virtually all manual handling yet maintaining the simplicity of simple “Stop to Stop” hydraulic systems. Each item of subsea and riser equipment is fully constrained and manipulated hydraulically as it is moved from its storage position, into the moon-pool and through the splash zone.

The operations control cabins and positions are being designed to provide remote monitoring and control functions that seeks to remove personnel from hazardous areas.

Once the riser has been installed, the hazards associated with running and storing jointed pipe are largely eliminated except for running the 5-1/2” liner.
