The History of Geoprober
Geoprober was established in 2004 as a cost effective data acquisition company specializing in deepwater exploration drilling in areas such as West Africa, Brazil, India and the Far East.
In June 2004, Geoprober entered into a Joint Industry Project (JIP) with Chevron Energy Technology Company to commence prototype testing of various elements of the system. On successful completion of those tests and the JIP, a further JIP commenced in August 2005 with Statoil an additional participant to fully commercialize the technology. To date more than $7 million has been invested in the project.
Geoprober also acts as an engineering contractor who will design and develop innovative solutions for challenging subsea activities. Work to date includes a deepwater deployment system for Shell in the Gulf of Mexico, a subsea wellhead support system for Talisman in the North Sea and an innovative solution for arctic drilling.
